GoGoGoa!!! on 26.11.2006 (Final Day)

This is the continuation of the previous posts. This is day four in Goa.
Just a re-cap of day 1, 2 & 3 for those who have gold-fish memory or for those who haven't read the earlier parts & is lazy to do so. :-)

Day 1 - 23.11.2006 - Humble self fly into Bangalore from Hyderabad and 9 of us travel in 2 Santros to Goa thro' Tumkur-Arsikere-Badravathi-Jog Falls-Honava-Kumta-Karavar. We had a gruelling 18hours drive when we should have made it in about 12 to 14hours.

Day 2 - 24.11.2006 - Missed Croc Watch Cambarjua Canal but instead visited St. Francis Xavier Church then to Bogmalo Beach and finally to Majorda and back.

Day 3 - 25.11.2006 - Were mis-led to DCH fort (remember, Dil Chatha Hai??) but instead found ourselves in Fort Aguada. Then we jumped into waters of the flatest-shoreline in Arambol Beach. Wanted to end the day @ Club Cabana instead found ourselves discussing outside Vanilla lounge

Now for the final day in Goa.... :-) Here we go....

November 26, 2006

0000hrs: These guys returned from a discussion with the localites and the result was, to quote my friend "Dude, it seems this is where the Goa night-life begins and after some time the crowd moves to the other places. And so according to these guys we are at the right place." "Thats it!! You guys were discussing for like 20minutes & thats it? What a waste of 20minutes," I thought but said "That was quick." And we finally had to pay Rs. 1800/- (Rs. 300 per head) to enter. :-( **To many Rs. 300 is cheap but i am crying bcoz i am tee-totaler and also dont have a gal-friend by my side. So for me its a waste & not an investment.**

When we were about to enter, we were overtaken by a couple. And as always I noticed (only) the gal. And she looked familiar to me. Wow! What a beauty she was. She had a great great structure but a bit too thin for my style though. She was wearing a extreme-black Sun Dress and a small cute single pendant on gold-chain. I was not able to notice the shape of the pendant though. She was white. And the black dress accentuated your looks and structure. Boy! This one gal convinced me that the entry fee is worth it! ;-) She was extreme white. I am sure if white-color had some emotions & feelings then it would enroll itself with a psychiatrist for anti-depression. I have seen fair-skinned or even an white-skinned but her color was way beyond my imagination. So against the extreme-white skin the velvetty full-black was a desirable combination. Also her texture was great. Whew! Lemme stop her, else this post will not be about my Goa trip but about my 3secs standing next to her. Oh! Did I tell her name here? She is Preeti Jhangiani! :-)

Then we were stamped on our hand(!!!) and we were greeted by a small "no-crowd" on an empty dance floor. EMPTY!!! I looked at the guy who said "Dude, it seems this is where the Goa night-life begins...blah blah" **the hell it starts from here. It looks like a graveyard save few ghost-like drunkards trying not to fall hard on the floor.** Guess, I was too cynical. May be bcoz Rs. 300/- was still ringing in my head. Never the less, we ordered our drinks and then suddenly the music started to build up. Wow! Now thats something @least you can move your legs for. Though I would still prefer a geniune pop (or a hip-hop) against this crap. At that sudden point in time I realized the profoundity of the proverb Beggars are not choosers! I shut my trap & went onto the dance floor, which was still empty.

After few minutes of I dancing noticed a small group of babes dancing next to us. And in that one was awesome! A shoulder-less top & was oomph!!! I started eyeing her and was, after some time, receiving signals too. :-) We continued dancing and one point, I was considering approaching her but decided against it. **plz don't ask me why? till date i am not able understand why i missed this opportunity!!** Oh, yeah! I should not forget to add that while returning from the disc, Romy said "Rp, those gals, you remember. Those who were dancing next to us?"
I was like "uhh...uhmm.... yes" **Did ye notice me eyeing them and they eyeing me??**
He said "They were eyeing..." while I was thinking **I know! I know!**. He completed it with "...me and Shashank." I was like "WHAT!!! YOU & SHASHANK??!! No way. It was me." but, again, I said "I know! I know!" I was actually shocked! Those two & not me, yeah?? I tried to think logically to prove my might against their's and after a while I got a logical argument which they cannot refute - "But, what about those times when you & Shanshak were no where near the dance floor??" Now they dont know what happened that time, so this means I have the ball rolling. heee heee Though I never actually used this sentence.

After the dance & few morsels of something-like food we were tired and my mobile was glowing 0145. I wonder how brain works, the minute it saw the time sleep ambushed us. We packed our selves & left the lounge towards our hotel. Just a block before the hotel, we stopped & some of us suggested that we will take a looooooooong ride on the bikes. It was a two-motive stratergy. Primary being, lets burn the excessive petrol, the lender is not gonna bargain on it. Secondary being, this is our last night in Goa & the roads are very inviting. :-) So we hit on.

Sachin with Shruthi(wife) on Avenger. Pinky & me on my Enfield. Shashank & Romy ("But, what about those times when you & Shanshak were no where near the dance floor??") on the other Enfield. We ripped on the high-way kinda clean roads with no traffic. The bugger Sachin would overtake us & would slow down till we overtake him. Again he would lower his gears and rip us out of shape. Arsehole! Enfield is a great vehicle but does not have the pick of Avenger and Sachin knew this pretty well. I am sure, Shruthi must have been a proud wife that day; after all, her husband is giving us a run for our money (literally). Suddenly my vehicle went into the reserve mode & so we all returned to our hotel.

0400hrs: We started playing a card game brought by Shashank. I am sorry I forgot the name of the game. Will try to recollect & post it soon. The teams were Shashank, Sachin & me(SSRP) Vs Pinky, Romy & Shruthi(PRS). We won them by zillion points. :-) Anyways, the losing team, which was undoubtedly PRS, is not gonna agree. But for records, SSRP team won like a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge margin against PRS, whose poor performance out beat India's performance in the on-going SA tour. After the game, at about 0500hrs we hit the sack.

0800hrs: **snore snore**
0900hrs: **snore snore** Lazily we all woke up. And realized the folly of waking up late. We have to leave today & early morn drive was suggested & agreed upon too. :-( Anyways, without wasting much time we got ready. A small group went ahead to make some purchases and few of the more responsible guys stayed back to wind up the room-vacating activity. We cleared that & went for break-fast. Only Deb, Romy, Sachin, Shruthi & Me were present @ the same hotel for breakfast. Others had it at the place of their shopping. After the order, Shruthi went for a small quick jewelery shopping. And the remaining of us played few boards of pool and returned to our hotel. I was sweating like water falls and we finished the final formalities of room vacating.

The idea now was that Smriti & me were to board our respective flight and the rest would continue on their car. So, we split up. Shashank & Pinky would drop Smriti & me and join the rest on NH17. So when I was about to get into my car, I went greeting everybody a "ah! such a nice trip" and stuff. And, when I neared Romy, my thoughts were "But, what about those times when you & Shanshak were no where near the dance floor??" but I said "Nice catch up dude. Lets repeat it for Andaman"

Regarding Goa Airport, I have loads to say but already this post is way toooooo long Lemme say that some other time.

NOT ABLE TO UPLOAD IMAGES! Will try after some time.

GoGoGoa!!! on 25.11.2006

This is the continuation of the previous posts. This is day three in Goa.
Just a re-cap of day 1 & 2 for those who have gold-fish memory or for those who haven't read the 1st part & is lazy to do so.

Now for the 3rd day in Goa. Here we go...

November 25, 2006

0000hrs: **snore snore**
0400hrs: **snore snore**

0800hrs: BANG! BANG! Holy Christ! This guy never sleeps and never allows us to sleep too BANG! BANG! Dude! Stop disturbing yaar. I will give my Enfield go for a ride & leave me **snore snore** WHAT! ROYAL ENFIELD!!! No way!! I opened the door and let that idiot to disturb us again. Grrr.... Wish early morning I had the energy to strangle his neck violenty & go back to peaceful sleep. Again, we repeated the same chore and got ready in a jiffy of less of 2hours! :-) We landed in the same shack for breakfast. Literally had the same menu on the same table served by the same waiter but the bill was costlier. :-O God knows how and I left the job to God & did not bother to ask GOD later!!

1200hrs: Almost the same group re-grouped on the same vehicles and today's itinerary was targetting northern Goa. We left on our great vehicles towards Aguada Fort. One amazing character in our group, whom we call the organizer of this trip had mis-informed us in telling this is the famous GOA fort from the film DCH!! We were all geared up and ready to go & take similar stills. When we reached there, we realized this fort is not what we were told. Grrr... all of us were searching this fella who gave us wrong info. Comfortably till our anger simmered down he was lost. Fortunate for him, the anger simmered down very quickly. This fort is awesome. Very very beautiful. The sea on 3 sides & a nice but not-so-magnificient semi-forest on the other. Very pretty. This place is now a part of memory for here we had some of our best snaps. And the best best ever clicked by your humble self. :-) Unfortunately none of the snaps are with me right now, will post the snaps separately at a later date. This is the largest & the best-preserved fort in Goa, built between 1609 - 1612. This is the only fort that remained unconquered during the 450yr Portuguese rule. The fort has an impressive 13mt tall light-house, but tourists are not allowed to go up. This is the oldest structure of its kind in Asia. Among the various historical importances, this fort happens to be the largest prison in Goa. This is a beautiful fort and plz do not miss it.

1600hrs: Then we shot to the next destination. Arambol beach it was. The best ever ride we had. This ride saw us doing loads of stunts. To start with the road is awesome. It was like riding across a hill to reach the beach. Remember we were on 2 Enfields + 1 Avenger + 1 Santo. We did crazy stuffs like Escort the Santro for some distance and such silly other scenes. But the best was yet to come. One guy (Mr. Pinky) suggested that we do a synchronized over-take & escort. The idea is that the video-cam will be with the Avenger pillion, who will be sitting facing the traffic-behind(!). The Avenger will be goin in front followed by the Santro. The 2 Enfields will be following the Santro. At the signal, both Enfields were to overtake the Santro one on each side and come right in front of it & Escort it further. We did this once but we did not get the sync. Then again after few yards we tried again & to our surprise it came to an amazing level perfection. The 1st attempt saw everybody making mistake - the cam, the bikers, the car & everything. But the 2nd attempt was like a computer generated one. Perfect!!! When I get those video's I shall post them here. :-) This beach was awesome, to say the least. It was crowded but yet everybody had enough space to feel private. We immediately stripped ourselves; ofcourse, except the gals & definitely we were not naked ;-) and ran into the sea. The best part of this beach is that this is the flatest sea-shore line I have ever been to. I have no idea even about the spelling of swimming but I was able to walk upto 25 to 30 mts into the sea and still the water was way below my chin!! The feeling of so far into the sea is awesome. I am waiting to learn swimming and enter Arambol beach! And, yeah, I should not forget that some stupid sand particles enter my left eye & irritated me so much that I had to abandon playing and close my eyes to silenty suffer the pain. In fact, when i quickly wink even now, i feel some few particles somewhere inside the eye!!! :-( This beach even has some small 1-room buildings that are available for rent @ 350/day!!! These buildings are about 10-15mts from the sea (mark it, from sea & not from beach!!!). So the next I visit Goa, I am sure to stay @ this small 1-room apartments just to enjoy 'a day @ sea-side'. We had a semi-lunchish-semi-dinnerish-semi-snackish items @ 1900hrs here. Then we left.

2000hrs: We began our journey back hotel. We reached our hotel & refreshed ourselves and it was like 2300hrs before we were all fresh. I am purposefully not putting much details in this time-frame bcoz there are lots to write about 2300hrs+ :-)

2300hrs: We left our hotel; all dressed to kill. **always wanted use this sentence** :-) We were prepared to go to Club Cabana. But in the mean time, Shashank found out that there is a better place closer to our hotel called Vanilla Lounge. Apparently this place is far better and had no extra charges unlike Club Cabana! We zoomed to this place. The minute we neared the place we knew we are in game for a great night. Unfortunately, I am not getting any snaps of this light show. It was not great but was fitting the party atmosphere. It was like a huge bright lamp hitting its powerful light on a ball of mirror and the light gets reflected into the night sky!!! :-) I heard that one can spot this light work even as far as 5-6km. Wow! Then came the shock!! There is an entry fee for guys (only) **unfair world** in this club and the entry is not covered!! :-( And the entry charge was putting us back my Rs. 2000/- + we havent had our dinner. Unfortunately, they would not accept card both at entry & inside!!! :-( This means wipe out every penny in pocket inside & walk out penniless. :-((I was suggesting that we go to Club Cabana. But there was a small discussion on what to do next. The others guys in our group (i mean, other than me) found few localites and went to find out about the other options. We did not want to spend Rs. 2000 for a non-rock music! They were playing some sad pop music! I like pop but this was real sad selection.

I looked @ the watch & it showed.... 2358hrs!!!
I looked up to see these guys were returning with some very nice information from the localites. And, they said...

Time in my watch that exact moment was 2400hrs!!! :-)

REST IN NEXT!!!

GoGoGoa!!! on 24.11.2006

This is the continuation of the previous post. This is day two in Goa.

The day two was a picture of few kms of ROYAL ENFIELD + ferry + 1 church + 1 beach. Here is day two for you fella.....

November 24, 2006

0000hrs: **snore snore**
0400hrs: **snore snore**

BANG! BANG! I thought somebody is running in the corridor and I was mildly irritated that my fitfull sleep is disturbed. BANG! BANG! Who the F is this? Cant (s)he run slowly or jog outside. BANG! BANG! For heaven's sake stop it. Its middle of the night. I opened my left eye. And, heard the jogger was even talking loudly over the phone. Loudly!!! Doesn't (s)he understand other humans live in the same building. "Wake up! Lazy bones! Wake up!" The jogger has a familiar voice as that of my friend! What is he doing in Hyderabad?!! I looked around and was shocked!! uh!...er...oh! I am in Goa! I saw the watch. and its not midnight

0800hrs: I opened the door and we (total 3 per room) were beaten up like slaves late for work. We were too tired to even protest. Within a flash (actually it was over 1hour) we got ready for the next day's journey. We went to another of those beach-shacks for break-fast & had breakfast for Rs.1200/- The waiters were afraid to even come near us. Guys were eating anything that was moving or for that matter, still too. Any thing and every thing was the mantra. Ofcourse, there were 3 strict eggitarians around like me. :-) In the mean time we had arranged for 2 Royal Enfields and 1 Avenger for our roaming within Goa. Each costed us a paltry sum of Rs. 350/day!! Because we had gone thro the guest-house where we were staying, we were not even asked for security deposit. We filled petrol and we were on the bikes going DHOOT... DHOOT... DHOOT. Awesome feel riding a Royal Enfield.

1200hrs: We slowly & reluctantly got up from our breakfast table, having cleared our bills. We were split like 6 on 3 bikes & 3 in car. I promptly picked a Enfield and refused to hand over the key even while having bath. :-) selfish!!! heee heee. The 1st place we embared on was Cambarjua Canal. This place is supposed to be famous for its Crocodile Watch. Apparently Crocs come out only in the morning for the birds to clean up its mouth & teeth. This place was like an hour ride from where we were staying, which is Calangute. We went driving & riding and were lost every 100mts. Finally when we reached a place, we were told tha croc watch is poss only in early morning hour! :-( So we dropped the plan but we ferried our bikes across the small stream. The ferrying is done for free!! :-) For Free!!!! amazing isn't it?? The croc watch images are awesome. I have put them here for benefit of understanding. Just imagine a croc right next to you when you are in a ferry!! must have been thrilling.

1500hrs: Having lost our 1st visit to our sleep. We substituted that with a unplanned church. St. Francis Xavier Church. This church is very good. When you enter in you are greeted by a relatively big altar, almost completely gold!! When asked somebody around me said it is Gold plated. Never the less, it was Gold and thats all mattered to me. It was very nice. In this church, they even had the body of St. Francis Xavier preserved and is displayed for all to see! The church was nice and has a huuuuuuuuge front garden. The church was originally built in the year 1545 but later renovated in year 1884. The body of the Saint has been around from 1622, the year he was canonized. Pretty interesting fact! The church is good visit. Its near Old Goa, Panjim. But beware of those road-side sellers, they like get onto your nerves. Yeah, if i dont say this it will not be good. When we were about to enter the Church compound, we were greet by another tourist walking ahead of us. Boy! She was wearing a short bright-red skirt & had such beautiful sexy legs.... man, God knows how to create! :-)

1700hrs: We went straight ahead to the next beach spot, where we were to finish our lunch. This beach is called Bogmalo Beach. Its just 4Km from the Dabolim Airport. While going to this place, I was frustrated by the slow moving fellas. I know that with Royal Enfield @ hand, if you go on 30Km/hr, its a crime. So, I decided to rip. I rode like I was possessed. Smrithi was behind me and she did not complain. The speedo-meter was not working and so I had no fears! I actually missed the left turn & went ahead & waiting for others to catch up. When they reached me, the guy in the car came & freaked me out with a revelation!!! "Dude, I was trying to chase you but you were unreachable. I was on 80+ and you were still pulling away from me! You must have been on 100Km/hr." Wow! Can you believe it? I was on 100 and I did not even feel it!!! Thats Royal Enfield for you guys! :-) Ok, we reached Bogmalo, not a very clean beach. We were hungry like hell, so we gobbled some grub. We played volley-ball for few minutes and played a rough rough mini-football. And my team lost the way India is cricket losing in SA, right now. We were tired almost instanteneously. We saw a guy doing wind-surfing. And it seem like fun. I wanted to do but unfortunately, I did not know swimming and I did not want to risk it. I decided someday I will learn swimming and will definitely do this wind-surfing. Its a target I have given myself. We also noticed that a group of tourist returning on a dingy from an island and we came to know that this service is only for the resident of the star-hotel situated @ the beach. Unfair world!!

2000hrs: We, with the help of the gals, requested one of the hotel fellas to rent a room for 1 hour for all of us to refresh. We refreshed in less about 1hr with just 1 bathroom. A record indeed. Imagine, 9 fellas (6 guys + 3 gals) within an hour sharing the same bathroom! Oh, yeah, this a record only bcoz none of us shared the bathroom together. :-) By the time we started it was close to 2130hrs. We went to the nearest casino, which was in Majorda. The casino is called Treasures. This is open 24hrs and is situated in like a 3-star hotel and is free entry only for the residents of the hotel. For others we need to shell out Rs. 200/- & its not covered either. The casino looked deserted and so was not very inviting. Though we heard that this casino is the one of the most wanted one but we could not find any signs of it. So we left the place immediately. The time was close to...

2000hrs: ...and now we thought this is the time to hit to Colva beach. It seems there is a very good disc out there. I guess we were talking about Avloc and we started our journey towards it. But, mid-way the gang decided that they were tired as hell and we would return to hotel. And we did exactly that! So no disc on day 1! :-(((((

This day was aimed @ south of Panjim. In fact, these area is called south circuit. The important beaches are Colva, Palolem, Majorda, Bogmalo, Benaulim. But Palolem was too far for us, so we decided on the other 3 & finished 2. But I have been to Colva and believe me, its far better than the other two we visited this time. Colva is famous for its Sun-set and also for Martin's Corner, a food joint that rocks. Almost every celebrity who had visited Goa had been to this place. A rocking place and not very expensive too. No one should miss Colva.
