At last a first!!!

to...
saka:yeah, i always know my moods were just like the rain clouds in Chennai. They never last more than a day or two... but, yeah, i had all the rights to be depressed bcoz the situation was like that. can't help it boss!!!

after a long of "i need it" and "i will by this month end"... i at last did it...

ah! the feeling is good and great.
i feel some amount of achievity
have i? a good que albeit bit late.
at last i got my connectivity. :-)

At last, after a real long wait (running into years), i recently picked up a laptop. a good enough fitting my budget and configuration. a HCL make. 1.73G + 1G RAM + Blue tooth + Web cam + DVD R/W. All of this for Rs. 46K + 3yrs warranty... Its apparently one of the best deals though the brand is not very well known in laptop circles.

after a few tussles with leading ISPs
i realized what a village i live in
it seems i live in a forest without trees
nobody would provide me a option to login.

I was quite irritated with the leading Broadband providers when they refused to provide me a broadband connection bcoz i apparently live really far from the city limits and it is not feasible for them spend time, money & effort in providing a cabled connection.

Then, I decided to try out wireless
but, yeah, i was surprised at their response
their interest could not have been any less
poor response means poor signals!

I tried the leading Wireless DataCard provided Mr. Reliance. I wanted to check the bandwidth and signal strength near my home. I was promised a demo at my home and i waited for over a week and realized they would not provide me even a decent demo. I was not in the least amused by their lack of service. There aft, I was not in the least in doubt about their after-sales service.

Then, a spark inside my huge head
I do already have a signal receiver, O' my Dumb
why cant i use it? Ah! Used my head
Thus my MOTO-V3 Razor with Airtel acts as modem

So, with a sudden dawn of brain-powerm, I realized why can't i use the features in my mobile. My mobile supports GPRS and my service provider does that too, so why not? :-)

So, fellas, here i am online from home using my Moto V3 Razor + Airtel combo. Hopefully this will help me streamline my online activity @ office to work-related only and thus improve my productivity. This means that i can leave ofc early & have a life other than work life too!!!

Yippee!!! I am happy! :-)

Brief Update!!

Planning to start a new idea of writing post. This is basically borrowed from kroopz but with a slight modification. I am planning to reply to the comments of the previous post before beginning the new post. Does that sound good? This way, I can definitely say to those who commented a more vociferous thanks. What ye say?

to...
chax: Soon dude. soon. :-)
saka: uh!! what? dude, can ye plz explain further?? :-)

This is a brief update from my side. I have been out of action from blog-world for over 3 months so thought would give a brief update from moi side.

The past 3 months to be precise from Nov 24th till date Feb 13th, had been a good roller coaster ride. Simply due to lack to time & balancing a huge pressure to make a +ve impact in office. So had to restrain from venturing into various of my online entertainments. So here is my brief update....

DEC 06-
  • Visited quite a few places on our way to a wedding. We went from B'lore to Belluru, Hallibidu, Kalasa, Hornadu. What a beauty these places are. Its a definite honeymoon spot esp Kalasa. Its the Karnataka equivalent of Munnar. Beauty par excellence. Also the architectural beauty of Belluru & Hallibidu is fabulous. I would request all those who can plz visit these places and believe me you will not regret it.
  • Attended one of my closest friends marriage. It was traditional Mangalorian Brahmin wedding. I enjoyed it. It was different but very refreshing.
  • Found a house @last. My college seniors house. Me & my other senior is sharing the house. A good house but very far from the actual happening Hyderabad.
  • Shifted my stuff from B'lore. Was a tough job. I had collected enough stuff thinking my life will be for-ever in B'lore. Way too many stuff for a bachelore, I should confess.
  • Went out with my b'lore friends to a resort and broke my ankle for the zillion-th time. Boy! My ankle's lady luck is working over-time. I am still able to run is a magic given the number of times I have twisted it.

Jan 07-
  • Spent my New Year eve fruitfully washing away my sins. Emptied my drum of mistakes & "never-do" things so that I can refill it this year again. I had been to Puttaparthy and spent a useful 3days. Prolly a very good way to start the year to come.
  • Went to B'lore the following the weekend to meet my class-mate who had come down to India. CK is doing his doctorate in US of A. Met him kinda after an year, at least. It was nice to catch up with him & the other gangsters. :-)
  • For Sankaranthi (or Pongal, for Tamilians) been to home for a lazy 3days. Spent the entire 3 days (i.e., 72hours) only on my bed and a couch near TV. In fact, one meal session I had in a spoon for not-wanting to get up to cleanse my hand. :-) Laziness is my birth right & I exercised it to the best during those days. Also this was my 1st visit after I took up this new job, so it means I am visiting after 3+ months, the longest after my college.
  • Attended one of my class-mate's wedding in Hyd, my friends had come down for it and it was fun unlimited. We enjoyed our best. Roaming in the streets of Hyd when the entire city was asleep and doing things which made the police wonder if we are terrorists! :-) For further details, log onto saka's page. click here A good update.
  • Spent one weekend purchasing stuff for my home. Bought a washing m/c and Diwan. It was my dream to set up a beautiful home, which you would love to return to from office. So in the process of setting it up. Hope I dont over do it.

Feb 07-
  • Spent another weekend cleaning my house and helped my room-mate purchasing for his trip to US of A. An official trip for 3 months.
  • LIVING A LOVELY LONELY LIFE @ MY HOUSE. FOR THE NEXT 3 MONTHS, I AM ALL ALONE. HYD GALS, ARE YOU LISTENING?!! :-)
  • Wanted to update my blog, and doing it so. :-)

(Attempting for a) Blog Template Update!!!

This is inspired by PV & Others! :-)

Actually I wanted to update my template for a real long time. And have been actively updating my template. But I have been updated or modifying only the old version of the template. I mean not the beta blogger ones. So today I decided to jump into the well.
I am (like most of the users across the globe) unhappy with my template. The template provided by blogger is not very flexible from my perspective. And I realized, if I wanna get what I want then I need to work towards it. Obvious. So, now I am working towards it. In the mean time...

You will so many changes that might not be pleasant. Sorry for inconvienience.

btw, to whom I am apologizing? :-) I need not apologize 4 two reasons:
1. its my webpage, i can do what-ever i feel like. :-) thats the 1st reason why we have a blog. to do what-ever we feel like!!!
2. read the 1st again. :-D

Rains. What a terror.

i hear the Chennai is submerged in rains! poor Chennai! it has been raining continuously for over few days; literally non-stop. 24/7!! yet it seem to have the same energy & zeal to pelt down more. phew! its tough to live under such conditions of extreme rainfall. imagine a never ending rain-fall that does not allow you to move out of house. you are under house-arrest. :-(

i have read some time ago that "when it rains, it pours." and this time around the rains in chennai has been a classical example to prove this statement. and this has become a norm oflate. no rains for a real long time and suddenly all of the rain at the same time. its like retaining the water for over 2-3 months & pouring it all-at-once in a single week. now, how in heavens any city can handle this? now no blames on the city-architect for not having planned for heavy rains please! how in jupiter can he/she/they even work out a plan for such a unpredictable event?? whats happening now is more like suddenly THE Rain God woke up from a deep slumber & tipped the bucket & promplty went back to sleep!!! what the heck, I say.

But check the impossible determination of chennaites. check these snaps to know it. and, i am sure this was the case out there in mumbai too. or may be more. hats off to their commitment to attend offices, be present in colleges/schools & meet their lovers. :-)

Lemme quote the yahoo news! "The Met department Sunday said that since last night (oct 28, 2006) Chennai had received 188.8 mm of rain and its outskirts 94.5 mm." phew! thats way too much buddy. way too much for a 1 night. am sure even james-bond would not be belting out this much for an 1-night affair. ;-) **censoring other irrelevant nasty thoughts** ;-D

After seeing about rains i went about tryin to understand why rains & why only chennai, ap (esp vizak, vijayawada) & orissa. Because of my ability to fall asleep everytime my geo lecturer walked in, i did not, to say the least, understand the scientific reason behind rains, low-pressure & stuffs. all i was able to gather was there is low-pressure (tending towards serious depression) in bay-of-bengal, which is the main cause for this incessant rains. Also, i hear that this depression is moving towards AP! **gulp** Hope it does not affect hyd much.

Having said all these I would like to say that Rain introduces a tinge of romantism in air. Rainy season is the best time to catch up with things. Be it sleep. Be it GF (or BFs). Be it with a nice novel. Be it a nice hot spicy mirchi-bajji. :-)

But the best use of rain till date is when you get wet with it. Its really really fun 2 get wet in rain. and its more fun if you get to play a game of soccer. And it is ultimate if your mom back home goes red seeing your wet & dirty!!! Man its fun, unlimited. Mom, I wish I was home.
